Summit Commercial Solutions has been named to the 2026 CB Insights Insurtech 50, an annual list recognizing 50 of the world's most promising private insurtech companies.
Announced on September 24, the fifth annual list was selected from more than 6,000 companies worldwide. CB Insights assessed factors including commercial maturity, industry partnerships, revenue and its proprietary predictive scores. Its 2026 report describes this year's selections as embracing "practicality over hype" and specifically highlights Summit as a tech-enabled brokerage for Canadian businesses.
For Summit, this recognition is a milestone in our work to bring deeper insurance advice and analysis to Canadian businesses.
A brokerage first
We are a commercial insurance brokerage first. We build technology in-house around the work that helps our clients make informed decisions: understanding their risks, examining their coverage and comparing their options.
Our AI agents support risk assessments, quote comparisons, policy reviews and the preparation of certificates and other insurance documents. These tools help our team work through the details behind a recommendation. Licensed brokers make the recommendations and approve documents before they reach a client or carrier.
Built around specific industries
We also build solutions around the needs of specific industries. Sherpa, our insurance compliance and certificate management platform, helps property managers and businesses collect and verify certificates, track compliance and follow up on renewals. It addresses a practical challenge: keeping track of insurance compliance across tenants, vendors and contractors.
The goal behind this work is to make the depth of advice and analysis traditionally associated with enterprise accounts accessible to more Canadian businesses, including mid-market companies with complex insurance needs.
